Nick Barkas

Hello! Welcome to my home page. My name is Sean Nicholas Barkas, but typically people call me Nick. I live in Stockholm with my wife, Emma, and work as a software engineer at Spotify.

I studied scientific computing with a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a master's from KTH. My master's thesis on computer simulations for the PoGOLite pathfinder flight can be found here.

I like open source software. Some of the projects I've worked on are linked to from my GitHub and Google Code pages. I have done some work with FreeBSD, including improving dirhash for the 2008 Google Summer of Code.

Emma and I (mostly her) blog about what we are up to here. I sometimes post things to Twitter or Facebook, and every once in awhile post some photos to Flickr.
